Matheus Nunes was Manchester City’s fourth signing of summer 2023, arriving on a five-year deal which keeps him at the Club until 2028. The Portugal international has joined Pep Guardiola‘s side following his one-year tenure at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Deployed in midfield, Nunes has been regarded by Guardiola to be “one of the best players in the world”.

Nunes started his professional career in 2018 when he signed for Primeira Liga side Estoril.

And after impressing against Sporting in a Taca da Liga fixture, Nunes secured a move to the club in January 2019.

He would go on to make 101 appearances for Sporting, scoring eight goals and assisting nine in the process.
